ABDULLA DERBISALIN

Abdulla Derbisalin was one of the national communists in the Turkestan ASSR.

He was born in 1888 in Yettisuv region (Karabulok district of the present Kustanai region of Kazakhstan).

In 1917, he participated in the political processes in Turkestan. At first, he promoted the ideas of autonomy in the Kazakh villages. He was elected a member of the National Assembly of Turkestan after participating in the 4th Extraordinary Congress of All-Turkistan Muslims.

After the overthrow of the autonomous government, he went to the side of the Soviet government. After Turor Riskulov established the Muslim Bureau of Turkestan Region (Musbyuro) in Tashkesh in March 1919, he worked as the head of the Yettisuv (Semirechye) region of the Muslim Bureau (second half of 1919 - April 1920) [1].

Later, he worked as an accountant at an oil factory in the Lenin district of the South Kazakhstan region. On July 4, 1941, he was arrested by the Lenin District Department of the NKVD and charged under Article 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. On September 27, 1941, he was sentenced to 7 years in a correctional labor camp. He did not return from prison.

Abdulla Derbisalin was posthumously rehabilitated by the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Kazakh SSR on December 1, 1989.
