AGZAMKHODJAEV SAIDAKBAR SAIDOVICH
Professor of the IRCICA Department for History and Source Studies of Islam at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan
Agzamkhodjaev Saidakbar Saidovich was born on May 2, 1953 in the city of Andijan. In 1970-1977, he studied Arabic philology at the Oriental Faculty of Tashkent State University, majoring in Orientalism and Arabic studies.
In 1977-1997, he worked as a researcher and senior researcher at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 1988, studying the issues of economic and cultural cooperation of Uzbekistan with foreign eastern countries, he defended his candidate’s thesis on the topic “Cooperation of Uzbekistan with the developing countries of Asia and Africa in the field of health care (1961-1985)” and received a scientific degree of candidate of historical sciences.
In 1996, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Autonomy of Turkestan: borba za svobodu i nezavisimost (1917-1918)” and was awarded the scientific degree of doctor of historical sciences. In 2002, he was awarded the scientific title of professor.
In 1997-1999, he worked as an associate professor of the Department of “History, Philosophy and Cultural Studies” and the head of the Department of “Social and Political History of the World” at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
In 1999-2018, he served as the dean of the “History and Philosophy of Islam” faculty of the Tashkent Islamic University, the Vice-Rector for educational-spiritual affairs, and the head of the “Theory and practice of building a democratic society”, “Religious studies”, and “History” departments.
Since 2018, he has been working as a professor at the IRCICA Department for History and Source Studies of Islam of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. S.S.Agzamkhodjaev is conducting lectures and seminars in Uzbek and Russian languages on “History of Uzbekistan”, “Religion, culture, and customs of the peoples of Central Asia”, “Museology and archival studies”, “Islamic culture and art”, and other academic subjects.
Professor S.S.Agzamkhodjaev has been participating in international scientific conferences and seminars with his scientific lectures. He established scientific relations with historians of the universities of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France, the USA, Japan, and Egypt.
S.S.Agzamkhodjaev’s scientific research is related to the social-political, cultural processes, and the history of the jadidism movement in Central Asia at the beginning of the 20th century. In particular, his scientific works are devoted to the history of Turkestan Autonomy, which operated in 1917-1918. He has published 8 monographs, 10 teaching-methodical programs and manuals, more than 150 scientific and popular scientific articles in connection with his scientific researches in history, oriental studies, and Islamic studies.
